About Us

Education: Learning, Leading, and Growing Together

Since its founding, ESA has been committed to fostering a love for learning, personal development, and leadership. As an ESA member, you’ll find countless opportunities to sharpen your skills, expand your knowledge, and deepen your understanding of the world.

Within your local chapter, you can take on leadership roles, head committees, or lead special initiatives—each one offering valuable, real-world experience.

We also celebrate formal education. Many of our members are continuing their education through local classes and programs.

As your knowledge and confidence grow, so does your ability to make a difference. Whether through leadership or community outreach, ESA empowers you to take what you’ve learned and use it to create positive change. The only thing left is to get involved—and start making an impact.

Service: Making a Meaningful Impact

At ESA we believe in the power of one person to create real change. ESA members dedicate countless hours to serving others, making a global impact through compassion, commitment, and action.

When you join ESA, you’ll have the chance to participate in service projects that support a wide range of local, national, and international causes. Together, our members contribute many hours of volunteer work each year

What makes ESA truly special is the freedom it gives you to follow your passion. Every member and chapter has the flexibility to choose the causes they care about most, set their own goals, and decide how they want to give their time and resources. Whether you’re passionate about healthcare, education, hunger relief, or something else entirely, there’s a place for you to make a difference here.

Association: Finding Your People, Fueling Your Purpose

ESA is a community of diverse individuals united by a shared goal: to make a difference. As members come together to serve others, they naturally build strong bonds rooted in encouragement, teamwork, and friendship. These connections often grow into lasting, meaningful relationships that enrich both personal and community life.

ESA membership is designed with flexibility in mind. You can join as a member starting at age 18 joining an established branch or join our on-line branch which connects members who are unable through isolation to meet regular branches

Participation is entirely in your hands. You decide how much time, energy, and heart you want to contribute. Whether you’re deeply involved or engage occasionally, your experience in ESA will be shaped by your unique goals and passions. And no matter your level of involvement, you’ll find that ESA has a lasting, positive impact—not just in your community, but in your own life, too.

Meet Our SponsorBeverley Mirolo, OAM

ESA International through its many community projects has and continues to make a real difference in the lives of thousands of Queenslanders. I know from personal experience how valuable that support can be. As a registered nurse involved in the treatment of leukaemia patients at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, I was fortunate to obtain an ESA-sponsored scholarship in 1984 to undertake a nine week study tour of bone marrow transplant units in the UK, and USA.

Such transplants were then an accepted treatment option for patients overseas and in some parts of Australia but were not available in Queensland. My examination of overseas facilities helped inform the design, organisation and staff of the unit at the Royal Brisbane  Hospital, the State’s first purpose built bone marrow transplant unit. The unit was funded by the Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland. ESA International provided significant funds through their fund raising efforts to help build the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.

ESA International has provided support to many individuals and community groups over many years, which in turn has paid immeasurable dividends to the wider community.

Why join ESA International?  It’s a wonderful way to meet others, have fun, make lasting friendships whilst improving the lives of those in need of support at a time when it’s needed most.
