Queensland Convention News

ESA Queensland members gathered to celebrate their annual Convention on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th May 2025. The event was held at the Sugar Country Motor Inn in Bundaberg. Although Bundaberg does not currently have its own branch, the Beta Epsilon ladies from Gin Gin—located 50 kilometres to the west—hosted the Convention.

The weekend was a wonderful oppor-tunity to reflect on the past year under the leadership of President Carmel Mulcahy. Carmel’s theme, “Evolve, Sustain, Adapt,” served as an inspiring reminder of the importance of embracing modern technology while staying mindful of its potential downsides. Her message encouraged members to move forward with innovation, while continuing to support one another and preserve the traditions and values thar serve the organisation well

The program included a mix of workshops and fun social activities. One of the highlights was a lively pub choir session where everyone joined in singing “You’re the Voice” by iconic Australian artist John Farnham. While we all felt like stars during the performance, listening back to the recording reminded us that perhaps a singing career isn’t in our fu-ture!

Another memorable experience was the visit to Monsoon Aquatics, Australia’s largest coral farm. Members were treated to the spectacular sight of over 200 different species of marine life from around the Australian coast. The stunning colours and diversity of the coral left a lasting impression on everyone
